Why have I not known of the existence of the fandom wank wiki before?
And, even more so: Tv Tropes?
These places are treasure troves of epic postmodern culture studies. It's fantabulous and makes the media studies student in me sing.
And the dork. Mostly the dork.

The page dedicated to Harry Potter on fandom wank is delicious, check it out:

Oh, the shenanigans of the crazies...

Further more: TV Tropes... I have yet to grasp the structure of the place, as sub-topics to shows or books will sometimes pop up randomly, but there will be no corresponding link on the show's own page and... it's just a grand, sprawling beast of popculture that invites you to take long, relaxing strolls. Perfect at work. Perfect. The cross-linkage is out of this world.
I love that place.

Let me link you to the Doctor Who tear jerker page at TV tropes, and then you're free to happily frolick across its joyful meadows. Tv, Movies, Literature, Anime... it's all there. All of it. Really. That place is mind-blowing.

I just spent over two hours on TV tropes. Thanks for another shameless excuse to completely waste my time.

Yes, exactly! I pulled up the tearjerker page for reference because a friend asked me about my biggest tearjerkers of the show, and then... off you go, stumbling from one little blue link to the next. It's worse than stumbleupon, I swear.
Long story short? nine o'clock until past midnight yesterday. It's ridiculous.
