My cup. It overfloweth.

So: expectations: they were extremely low. And now - get this - I actually liked it. I actually really liked it. Ikr?

Now, how about we get the two only things that actually bothered me out of the way, shall we? I was warned on one of them, so again, my reaction was more *meh* rather than "WUT?!?! This is an outrage!" But still.

a) no manly hug of Ron/Harry bromance after the locket scene. Guys, this was a big character moment for me. And tons of other people. Would've really appreciated it if that had been left in.
b) Malfoy Manor wasn't intense enough. There. I've said it. Hermione wasn't unconscious and more so, fully able to carry dead little house elf heroes all over the place after. Yeah.. this is not how it happened.
AND even more importantly so: Ron and Harry as well weren't anywhere near hysterical enough.

"HERMIONE!!!" Remember that? My tear-ducts certainly do. But there was none of it in the film. Which is a shame. In the book, I spend 10 pages wanting to retch all over the place because Harry couldn't think straight and Ron was trying to run down dungeon walls with the amazing power of his stringy little body. They were both far, far too calm. And, I get they probably did not want to go there "Because of teh children", but then again the Charity Burbage sequence was deliciously, gut-wrenchingly terryfying, so: what gives? Don't get m ewrong, I loved Bad-ass Bellatrix and all. But, I really was too much "exiting" in the "Whoa, eh? Look at that explosion!" rather than the fictional experience that nearly drove me into insanity.

Also: Wormtail doesn't strangle himself. Probably for the smae reasons. But again: meh.

But really, I was prepared, so: meh. Whatever.

Now: Things that I liked.

- they can act. Sweet baby Jesus, they can actually act. I knew Rupert would be brilliant because he always was the most talented of the lot but... even Emma Watson tamed her Eyebrows and all. This might be first-viewing rush speaking but, guys: I only felt utterly annoyed by her presence maybe once! That is an amazing quota!
-OMG GALADRIEL/HORCRUX HARRY AND HERMIONE! D: THE ENTIRE SCREEN WAS LIKE "OMG, SHIT, MAKE THEM GO AWAY. DO. NOT.WANT. which is a good thing. "All shall gaze at me in revulsion and despair! One bloke towards the front shall shout "Somebody make it stop already!" and then the other 300 shall laugh giddyly!"

- Bill Weasley. I loved Bill Weasley. In all his glory. Bill Weasley. Did I mention Bill Weasley, yet? Hope we spend ALL the time at Shell cottage in the next film.
- Ron's deluminator speech was second-hand-embarrassment-ish cheesy when heard on screen rather then read on a pge BUT: It was truly, wonderfully compensated for by Harry's hilarious "Oh, just keep talking about little lights touching your heart." line. Dr Pepper went into my sinuses. 'nuff said.

- Neville previews how he is A FUCKING BAMF, SON! AND YOU'D BETTER LISTEN WHEN HE CALLS YOU A LOSER ON THE TRAIN BECAUSE NEXT YOU'LL BE GETTIN' HIS BOOT, YO!

- They did a great GREAT job of communicating the despair that falls over the country. Especialy during the montage of the trio wandering about, with a soundtrack from Potterwatch layed over it
"And now for the list of today's missing witches and wizards. Luckily, it is short one today." and then it goes on FOREVER and I misted up and everything. That was fantastic.

- The Harry/Hermione dance starts of as incredibly awkward but then turns really sweet, so I'm more then fine with that.
(- speaking of dances: No hide nor hair to be seen of Krum in the version I saw. Hum.)
- George. With the toothbrush in his ear. Oh, I love him dearly.
- the parallel montage in the beginning to show the trio in their preperations. That was really well done.
-THE THREE BROTHERS ANIMATION OMG CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE THREE BROTHERS ANIMATION AT GREAT LENGTH AND DETAIL REAL SOON? MY FRIEND FROM ARTSCHOOL AND I WERE FIST-BUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE ABOUT THAT. TATTOO MATERIAL Y/Y?!?!
- Runcorn Harry. His hapless body language was fantastic. Well done, actor whose name I'm too lazy to look up.
-The hands at Grimmauld place, They left that in!!!! What? I'm easy that way.
-Ron gets to actually TALK and make OBSERVATIONS and SPEAK REASON for a bit. Again: my cup. It overfloweth.
- Charit Burbage. So. Tense.
-Dobby's added lines about being with frineds pushed me right into Lake Wannaweep.

Finally, in so-so land: Not sure what to think about "Mudblood" carved into Hermione. The jury is still out as to whether I think it's interesting or an over the top cliche.

That's all the unarticulated thoughts I have for now, but I'm sure there's more to come.

TALK TO ME, PEOPLE! IF NOT NOW, BY THE END OF TEH WEEK! I NEED TO TALK XD

my friends thought i was crazy for being annoyed that ron didn't freak out enough! that was one of the exact things that i felt could have been brought out more because hermione's screams were very prominent! glad to hear someone feels the same way about that part! :)

Three Brothers scene, could have screwed it up in so many ways, but oh no....

JAW

DROOPED

ON

FLOOR!

GOOOOOD!

That Battle of Little Whinging was well done. And the way the Snatcher caught the scent, brilliant execution. Talk about stealing a scene for both of them.

But then again I always thought Emma was always spot on (even if her hair changed more colors than a rainbow, but not her fault). Rupert and Dan, well done Sirs, well done.

Malfoy Manor - Yeah, Ron wasn't crazy enough. Also, the Mudblood carving into her arm? Sooorta cheesy...

Yeah, I didn't like Wormtail not strangling himself, but it was sort of made up for by the hilarious "...ow" before he fell xD

I was surprised by Emma's lack of annoyingness too! BUT SHE WAS SO GOOD IN MALFOY MANOR!
And when she wiped her parents memories... so sad... I really liked that they included that.
DanRad as the 7 potters - THAT WAS AMAZING ACTING I COULD TELL WHO WAS WHO BY THE WAY HE WAS MOVING

I loved the way that they kept the fact that the Horcrux Harry and Hermione were weirdly altered - made them seem creepy as hell. I did not like the huge explosion thing beforehand - what the hell was that about.

I actually didn't particularly like Bill Weasley. like his acting was fine, but I found his facial structure just didn't fit in with the rest of the family. Like he didn't look like he was related to them, wheras the rest somehow fit together...

Ron's deluminator speech was a biiiiiiit over the top. But you're right, Harry's line TOTALLY MADE UP FOR IT THAT WAS HILARIOUS

NEVILLE. NEVILLE. I LOVE YOU NEVILLE. Go away Cormac, you're taking away screentime from NEVILLE FUCKING LONGBOTTOM

The despair. Was so. DEPRESSING. Which was a good thing. BUT IT WAS SO SAD.

I loved the Harry/Hermione dance, it was amazingly goofy. Though I didn't like the fact that they added a Harry/Hermione dance but couldn't keep in the Ron/Hermione dance at the wedding.

TOOTHBRUSH IN GEORGE'S EAR! THAT WAS AMAZING! The person who I went to see it with didn't notice at first, I had to point it out. I love George.

The parallel montage at the beginning was amazing. I liked the fact that we actually saw Hermione wiping her parents' memories - it was so sad but it was amazingly done.

THE THREE BROTHERS ANIMATION HOLY SHIT. It reminded me very slightly of the Nightmare Before Christmas. It was brilliant and creepy and the invisibility cloak was amazingly sparkly and holy shit I would have posters of that animation all over my room.
Runcorn Harry, and the other two, actually, were SO GOOD. They were so awkward in their bodies and you could tell who was supposed to be who even without their voices :)

RON! WAS A PERSON! I LOVED THAT!

OH YES I LOVED HOW THEY WERE ALMOST HOLDING HANDS SQUEEEEEEEEE

Dobby's last words - holy shit I was clinging to the guy who I went to see it with, it was so sadddddddd.

hold on, she said the malfoy manor wasn't as good because neither Ron nor Harry reacted as desperate, specially Ron.

but hermione being tortured IS amazing, it will send chills down your spine

also to answer your question ron leaves in part 1. (Ron leaving is way before malfoy manor, remember?)

also Awww man! your quote of Ron hitting his head against the wall reminded me how much i love that scene of the trio meeting in secret and Molly weasley's busting them and the Harry hugging molly who was so worried.

:(

i hope there was a deleted scene of that or something
